SPLASHWATER PROTECTION. The IPX protection classes define the moisture protection of electrical or electronic devices. The moisture protection test is defined in different stages. IPX4 certifies protection against splashwater from all sides. Battery-powered tools with this certification are therefore designed for daily use, even in rainy conditions.
AP 500 S battery: use AP system professional power tools more efficiently with STIHL connected
The STIHL AP system supports you in your daily professional gardening, landscaping and tree maintenance tasks. The matching AP lithium-ion batteries help you to use STIHL battery power tools even for demanding tasks. 4 LED lights keep you informed of the charge level of the battery at all times.
The POWER BOOST function of the STIHL AP 500 S battery in combination with a suitable STIHL power tool enables you to temporarily achieve peak power of up to 3.5 kW. Thanks to power laminate technology, the STIHL AP 500 S battery offers you twice the number of possible charging cycles compared to previous STIHL batteries.
Thanks to the integrated Bluetooth® interface, you can link the STIHL AP 500 S battery to STIHL connected and record and save central battery data there. Using STIHL connected enables diverse possibilities, for example accessing data such as battery status, the number of charging cycles and the option to set the charging speed. In addition, it means you can locate and identify individual batteries which are part of the STIHL connected system. You can use a smartphone, for example, to display the last known GPS position of your AP 500 S battery. If all batteries are within Bluetooth® range, for instance at an external work site, they are displayed in the STIHL connected app. You can also check whether all batteries have been properly removed and stored.
STIHL AP batteries with a nominal voltage of 36 V can be charged with any compatible STIHL charger. We recommend using the STIHL AL 500 charger for this battery.
STIHL AP batteries are available with the following energy content capacities:
- AP 200 S with 187 Wh battery power, 1.3 kg weight
- AP 300 S with 281 Wh battery power, 1.8 kg weight
- AP 500 S with 337 Wh battery power, 2.0 kg weight
