onday1. Background

1.1          Information on how to enter this STIHL 100 Years, 100 Stories competition (Promotion) and prize details form part of these terms and conditions (Conditions). 

1.2         The promoter is STIHL Pty Ltd trading as STIHL Australia, of 5 Kingston Park Court, Knoxfield VIC 3180, ABN 76 004 881 145 Telephone: (03) 9215 6666 (Promoter).

1.3      The Promotion is a game of skill and does not incorporate an element of chance in the determination of the winners.              

1.4          Entries must comply with these Conditions to be valid. 

1.4        By participating in the Promotion, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these Conditions, and you agree to be bound by these Conditions. 

2. Promotion Period

2.1          The Promotion commences on Monday, 27th October 2025 at 12.00pm AEDT and closes on Monday, 15 December 2025 at 12:00pm AEDT (Promotion Period). Entries received outside the Promotion Period will not be valid.

3. Eligibility

3.1          Entry is open to all individuals who are:

  1. residents of Australia;
  2. aged 18 years or older at the commencement of the Promotion Period; and
  3. willing and able to collect their prize pack from their nearest STIHL dealership, at the time of entry into the Promotion (Entrants).

3.2      Directors, officers, employees, agents and contractors of the Promoter and other agencies or companies associated with the Promotion (including employees of retailers participating in the Promotion) and their immediate families are not eligible to enter this Promotion. Immediate family means any of the following: spouse, ex-spouse, de-facto spouse, child or stepchild (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister or first cousin. 

3.3          The Promoter reserves the right to verify the eligibility of any Entrant and compliance with these Conditions. The Promoter may require such information as it considers reasonably necessary for this purpose. 

3.4          By entering, Entrants grant STIHL Australia permission to reuse their content across STIHL’s owned social channels and website.

4. Entry into the Promotion

4.1          To enter the Promotion, Entrants must:

  1. (1) follow or already be following STIHL Australia on Instagram (@stihl_au);
  2. (2) like the competition post for the Promotion on Instagram; and
  3. (3) upload an Instagram post using the official campaign hashtag #STIHLForLife100 with a caption detailing a truthful story written by the Entrant about their real, first-hand experiences using STIHL products; and 
  4. (4) tag @stihl_au in their post, 
  5. and each such Instagram post submitted by an Entrant shall constitute one entry into the Promotion (Entry).
  6.  

4.2          Each Entrant may submit an unlimited number of entries into the Promotion during the Promotion Period.

4.3         Entries will be deemed void if illegitimate, forged, AI-generated, manipulated or tampered with in any way (at the absolute discretion of the Promoter). 

4.4         Incomplete, indecipherable, or illegible Entries, or Entries that do not comply with these Conditions, will be deemed invalid. For example, Entries that do not tag @stihl_au in their post will not be accepted. 

4.5       The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any misdirected or lost Entries or Entries not received within the Promotion Period specified in clause 2.1.

5. Winner Selection, Notification and Verification

5.1          The three (3) winners of the Promotion will be determined at 5 Kingston Park Court, Knoxfield VIC 3180 on or about Monday, 15 December 2025 at 5:00pm AEDT. The three (3) winners of the Promotion will then be announced via Instagram on Tuesday, 16 December 2025 within approximately 24 hours of the three (3) winners having been selected.

5.2       The winners of the Promotion will be determined by a judging panel comprised of members appointed by the Promoter in its sole discretion (Judging Panel). 

5.3      The Judging Panel will evaluate and rate each entry, in their sole and absolute discretion, having regard to the evaluation criteria set out below, and will select a first, second and third winner (who will be eligible to receive the first, second and third prize, respectively, as set out in clause 6 below):

5.4        The results of the Promotion will be published via an Instagram comment from @stihl_au on the competition post within approximately 24 hours of the selection of the three (3) winners by the Judging Panel, and the Instagram tags of the three (3) winners will be revealed. The three (3) winners will also be notified directly via direct Instagram message and will be provided with an official STIHL Australia email address to claim their prize. 

5.5          Subject to the winners claiming their prize in accordance with clause 5.4, the Promoter will deliver the relevant prize to each of the three (3) winners within 28 days of the Promoter announcing the winners of the Promotion, subject to any processing or delivery delays. The winners will be notified of any delays.

5.6        If a winner cannot be contacted or does not claim their prize within 3 months, despite reasonable efforts by the Promoter, or the winner is not eligible for the prize or has not complied with the Conditions, then the Promoter reserves the right to withdraw the prize from the original winner and award that prize to a replacement winner selected by the Judging Panel in accordance with the evaluation criteria set out above. 

5.7         The Promoter reserves the right to at any time verify the eligibility of any Entrants, the validity of any and all Entries, and the compliance of any Entrant with these Conditions.  The Promoter may require such information as it considers reasonably necessary for this purpose and reserves the right to disqualify any Entrant if it reasonably suspects the Entrant has: (a) provided false or misleading registration information; (b) tampered with the entry process; or (c) engaged in any unlawful or other improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the Promotion.

6. Prize Details

6.1        The prizes for the three (3) winners of the Promotion are as follows: 

  1. (1)           the winner determined by the Judging Panel to be the first winner shall be eligible to receive one (1) STIHL gift voucher to the value of $1,500 AUD;
  2. (2)           the winner determined by the Judging Panel to be the second winner shall be eligible to receive one (1) STIHL gift voucher to the value of $1,000 AUD; and
  3. (3)           the winner determined by the Judging Panel to be the third winner shall be eligible to receive one (1) STIHL gift voucher to the value of $500 AUD.

6.2         The eligibility of an Entrant to receive one of the prizes set out above is conditional on the Entry requirements in clause 4 being satisfied. No Entrant is eligible to receive more than one of the prizes listed above.

6.3          Each prize is not transferrable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash. If the prize becomes unavailable for any reason the Promotor may substitute it with an alternative prize of equal or greater value to the extent permitted by applicable laws.   

6.4         Each prize must be taken as described and no compensation or other amounts will be payable if the winner is unable to use the prize (including if the prize expires without being used by the winner for any reason). Any costs incurred in connection with taking or using the prize (including any tax liabilities) will be the sole responsibility of the winner.

7. Social Media

7.1          By using and entering this Promotion on Instagram, Entrants:

  1.  agree to comply with Instagram’s terms of use;
  2. release Instagram from all claims based on, related to or arising from the Promotion; and
  3. acknowledge and agree that this Promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by or affiliated with Instagram.

7.2         The Promoter is not responsible for any loss, damage or injury to Entrants resulting from entering or participating in this Promotion including arising from any comments made, or material published, by third parties about the Entrants on any social media platform in connection with this Promotion.

7.3          Any questions, comments or complaints regarding the Promotion should be directed to the Promoter and not to Instagram.

8. Privacy and consent 

8.1       Personal information including the Entrant’s name, email address, social media handle, telephone number and address may be collected and used for the purpose of conducting this Promotion. The Promoter may also disclose this information to third parties, including local regulatory authorities and the Promoter’s agents or third-party service providers, for the purpose of conducting the Promotion, or for promotional and marketing purposes (including for direct marketing), whether during or after the Promotion (Purpose).

8.2          By entering this Promotion, the Entrant

(1)  consents to the use of their personal information for the Purpose, and also that the Promoter may contact them for future promotional and marketing purposes without payment.

(2) grants the Promoter a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, adapt, publish, communicate and distribute any Entry (including any accompanying text, images, or other content) submitted by an Entrant for future promotional and marketing purposes, including but not limited to use by the Promoter on their websites, social media channels, and in printed materials.

8.3        The Promoter may, at its sole discretion, de-identify Entries prior to any publication or use of those Entries by the Promoter in accordance with clause 8.2(2). Nevertheless, each Entrant hereby consents to the Promoter publishing their personal information when using any Entry in accordance with clause 8.2(2).

9. General Terms

9.1          To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Promoter reserves the right to vary the Conditions of, or cancel, the Promotion at any time without liability to any Entrant or other person (subject to compliance with applicable regulations and any directions of a licensing authority).  

9.2       The Promoter shall not be liable and excludes all liability (including but not limited to negligence, infringement of third party intellectual property rights and misleading or deceptive conduct) for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) for damage to property, personal injury or death suffered or sustained in connection with the Promotion or the use or taking of any prize, except for any loss, damage or injury which is due to the negligence or wilful misconduct of the Promoter, which otherwise cannot be excluded by law. 

9.3         All taxes (excluding goods and services tax), which may be payable as a consequence of a winner receiving a prize, are the sole responsibility of the winner.

9.4       These Conditions do not exclude or limit the application of any statutory provision (including a provision of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)), where to do so would contravene that statute. 

9.5          In the event of a dispute concerning the conduct of the trade promotion or claiming a prize, Entrants must contact the Promoter to attempt to resolve the dispute in good faith. Any disputes will be addressed by the Promoter with the Entrant. If the dispute cannot be resolved, the Promoter’s decision will be final. The Promoter must act reasonably and in accordance with these Conditions. 

9.6          The laws of Australia shall govern these Conditions and the conduct of the Promotion.

9.7          The parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia .
