SAFETY HELMETS, FACE SHIELDS AND HEARING PROTECTORS

A safety helmet or face and hearing protection is essential for many jobs. For your safety, we have a wide range of services available.

SAFETY HELMETS, FACE SHIELDS AND HEARING PROTECTORS FOR PROFESSIONALS AND HOBBY USERS

When working with motorised tools, head protection is recommended and often mandatory. There are several aspects to head protection: A robust safety helmet protects the head from falling branches, twigs or objects. A face shield helps to prevent injuries to the face caused by shavings or stones. Hearing protection is particularly recommended when working with petrol-powered equipment.

As a general rule, we recommend that you wear the personal protective equipment specified in the instruction manuals when using all of our STIHL equipment. Depending on the application, this includes, among other things, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety helmet and much more.

ALL-ROUND PROTECTION WITH A FORESTRY HELMET

A forest safety helmet provides comprehensive protection for the head. Therefore, it always consists of a plastic helmet in a set with hearing protection and face protection. For this a forestry helmet provides protection for the entire head area, which significantly reduces the risk of injury during forestry work.

Our helmet sets are light but durable, so they are comfortable to wear. The visor protects against flying wood splinters, which can occur during sawing work. It consists of a transparent plastic disc, a sturdy wire mesh or fine nylon fabric. A woven face shield is less sensitive than a disc, which is more susceptible to scratches. Acrylic glass on the other hand, can serve well as splash guards. Our forestry helmets have hearing protection that protects your ears from harmful noise emissions.

HEARING PROTECTION AT HIGH VOLUME

To ensure that your hearing is safely protected from unpleasant noise, it is recommended that you wear hearing protection on certain motorised devices. You can find out whether hearing protection is recommended for your tool in the user manual. In any case, employers are obliged to provide their employees with suitable hearing protection as soon as noise exposure reaches a sound level of 85 dB(A). The safety requirements of the European standard EN 352 WorkSafe Australia must be met.

Our earplugs effectively dampen the sound level and thus the noise emissions of the motorized devices. As a result, motor work is quieter on the ear – regardless of whether you opt for ear protectors or earplugs.
