Australia rules the STIHL Timbersport stage
Australia have done it again...chopping their way to the top of the woodpile at the 2015 STIHL TIMBERSPORTSⓇ SERIES WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS in Poznan, Poland on 13th Nov, 2015.
The five-man team put on an incredible performance to take out the title of World Champions proving they are unbeatable for the 2nd year in a row. They competed against over 20 countries in this global competition. The team chopped and sawed their way through four technically demanding disciplines - two with axe and two with saw - in relay style, to become World Champions with a NEW WORLD RECORD time of 47.22sec.
The team was made up of the top competitive lumberjacks from around Australia:
NSW: Brad De Losa - Lithgow
VIC: Brayden Meyer - Broadford & Laurence O'Toole - Doncaster, Melbourne
QLD: Mitch Argent - Blackbutt & Jimmy Head - Redcliffe, Brisbane
ABOUT THE 2015 STIHLⓇ TIMBERSPORTSⓇ SERIES WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 2015 STIHL TimbersportsⓇ Series World Championships was be held in Poznan, Poland on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th November 2015.
Now in its 11th year, the 2015 event saw more than 100 athletes from over 20 countries compete at The Congress Centre in Poznan. Competitors were cheered on by close to 7,000 fans on each day of the competition.
The STIHL TimbersportsⓇ Series is a global competition that attracts large crowds around the world, in the USA, Canada and Europe. The events also receive live coverage on TV throughout the US and Europe. This year saw Australia hold its own inaugural STIHL TIMBERSPORTSⓇ Series. The best athletes from each state competed in the Championship final, held in Bathurst in October. The five team members were the top athletes from the competition, earning their spot on the Australian team.
