Useful things for building the planter

Tips for planting

When planting your balcony, sometimes less is more – two to a maximum of three colours per planter ensure a beautiful blaze of colour without appearing overloaded. Complementary colours such as yellow and purple or blue and orange flatter the eye, but combinations such as red and white are also timeless classics.

When filling a planter, the following often applies: less is more.

Also make sure to leave enough space between the plants, which will soon grow bigger. There should always be a hand’s width of space between two flowers, or even two for large flowers.

Of course, you are not limited to flowers to green your homemade planter – how about growing vegetables like tomatoes or choosing climbing plants to shield curious eyes? Grasses also enrich many a balcony as a privacy screen.
