Before using, cleaning, storing, maintaining or troubleshooting your STIHL product, read the instruction manual carefully. It contains important information to help you use the product safely and correctly.
Regular maintenance helps keep the headset comfortable, hygienic and ready for use. This includes physical maintenance, such as cleaning the headset and replacing the hygiene components, as well as keeping the device firmware up to date.
Firmware updates are particularly important when ProCOM headsets are being used with other mesh-connected ProCOM devices. If a device is not updated, users may experience lost connections, poor audio quality or loss of available features.
The STIHL ADVANCE ProCOM app also provides useful device functionality, including access to channels, radio settings and other device options.
Under normal, regular use, it is recommended that the hygiene kit is replaced every six months. In hot, humid, dusty or high-sweat working environments, replace it every three months or sooner.
Replace the hygiene kit immediately if you notice:

Additional settings, including channel selection, microphone sensitivity and saved radio stations, can also be accessed through the STIHL ADVANCE ProCOM app.
Where several ProCOM headsets are used together, keeping each device updated helps support communication across the mesh-connected system. The maintenance guide notes that outdated firmware may contribute to lost connections, poor audio quality or unavailable features.
Do not rely only on the scheduled replacement interval. Replace the ear cushions and foam inserts sooner if they are cracked, hardened, compressed, misshapen, unhygienic or no longer creating an effective seal.
The firmware instructions specify connecting the switched-off ProCOM headset to the computer using the supplied USB charging cable.
Replace the hygiene kit every six months under normal use. In hot, humid, dusty or high-sweat environments, replace it every three months or sooner. It should also be replaced immediately if the cushions or foam inserts show signs of deterioration or no longer provide an effective seal.
Connect your headset to the STIHL ADVANCE ProCOM app, open the menu and view the current-device status. This screen displays the firmware information and indicates whether an update is required.
The smartphone app is used to check the device and determine whether an update is required. The documented firmware installation process uses the STIHL ProCOM Device Manager on a compatible Mac or Windows computer.
Keeping the firmware current helps the ProCOM operate with other mesh-connected systems. The maintenance guide advises that outdated firmware may result in lost connections, reduced audio quality or loss of features.
Allow Device Manager to complete the update without interacting with the computer or the connected ProCOM headset. Wait until the software displays the Firmware updated successfully message.
Settings can be reviewed through the DEVICE SETTING tab in the desktop Device Manager. Selected functions can also be managed through the STIHL ADVANCE ProCOM smartphone app.
Regular care and software updates help keep your ProCOM headset hygienic, connected and ready for operation. Check the headset regularly, replace worn hygiene components and install available firmware updates through the STIHL ProCOM Device Manager.
