When using other brands of battery tools, the performance can sometimes decrease during work as the battery discharges. This isn't the case with STIHL battery-powered tools. Thanks to the intelligent electronics, your tool will work with consistently high power across the entire battery charge, until there is no energy left in the battery.
FOR SIMPLE AND SECURE RE-TENSIONING. Side-mounted chain tensioning allows for protected, easy and quick chain tensioning and replacement. The tensioning screw is inserted laterally through the sprocket cover.
PRECISE WORK WITH LONG REACH. This telescopic shaft has a square tube for especially precise cuts. This means excellent shaft rigidity when extended, which supports accurate positioning and precise performance when sawing branches at a greater distance.
REMOVAL OF LOOSE CUTTINGS. Thanks to the sturdy branch hook, you can remove loose and cut branches from great heights.

FOR MORE CONTROL WHILE YOU WORK. For better directional control when aiming and sawing with your pole pruner, the direction guide has been integrated into the sprocket cover as a raised line.
DIRECT POWER SUPPLY TO THE POWER TOOL. With this power tool, you can insert the required battery from the STIHL AP-System directly into the engine housing. This increases your mobility and flexibility when working.

PREVENTS DIRECT CONTACT WITH THE GROUND. The protective foot supplied as standard prevents the housing from coming into direct contact with the ground. This protects the housing from dirt and moisture.

HTA 160 battery pole pruner: With telescopic shaft for efficient professional use in tree care
The STIHL HTA 160 battery pole pruner efficiently supports pros in tree care, orchards, local authorities and agriculture and forestry when pruning trees, removing dead wood and breakage caused by storms, and pruning fruit trees.
The powerful EC motor of the STIHL HTA 160 is powered by lithium-ion batteries from the STIHL ALLPRO system. The lightweight, robust magnesium transmission supports easy manoeuvring. You can use the pole pruner to cut branches and trees up to 20 cm in diameter. Thanks to the professional telescopic shaft with a particularly rigid square-edge profile and quick-adjustment mechanism, the total length of the HTA 160 can be easily adjusted as desired, up to 405 cm. This enables exact positioning and precise cutting even in higher parts of a tree. In fact you can carry out thinning of tree crowns right up to a height of around 5 m. The HTA 160 can be used with STIHL 3/8" P saw chains such as the STIHL 3/8" P Picco Micro 3 (PM3) chain, or with 1/4" P STIHL saw chains such as the 1/4" P Picco Micro 3 (PM3). No hearing protection is required with 1/4" STIHL saw chains, facilitating work even in noise-sensitive areas. The variable throttle offers particularly good control during cutting. The electrical unlocking with a 5-second active time additionally helps minimise interruptions when adjusting your grip in changing work situations, as it means it is usually unnecessary to unlock again.
A robust branch hook cast onto the compact cutting head makes it easier to grasp and remove loose cuttings. The chain sprocket cover is equipped with a felling guide for precise positioning and lateral chip ejection. The easy-to-access, robust tensioning system on the side of the chain sprocket cover allows the saw chain to be adjusted conveniently and precisely. All controls of the STIHL HTA 160 are conveniently at your fingertips, on the ergonomically optimised control handle with digital operating unit, which is prepared for retrofitting with a STIHL Smart Connector, and has an LED display.
The STIHL base provided as standard protects the engine housing of the pole pruner from making contact with the ground. The easy-to-clean air filter with metal mesh supports optimal motor cooling and as such a long service life for your STIHL HTA 160. The optionally available STIHL RTS backpack carrying system allows you to take the strain off your back while maintaining unrestricted movement for longer periods of work.
The STIHL HTA 160 has a total length of 285 cm to 405 cm.
