FIRST-CLASS TOOLS FOR THE FOREST AND GARDEN

For effective work in forests and gardens, you need tools you can rely on. High-quality axes, hatchets, hammers and other forestry tools help you achieve good results at work.

FORESTRY TOOLS THAT OFFER RELIABLE SUPPORT

Felling and cleaving wedges, as well as other STIHL forestry tools such as sappies, tongs, Swiss bush hooks and pulling and pulp hooks are strong and reliable helpers, especially when working in the forest. If you are felling trees or preparing wood for transport, high-quality tools from STIHL can help you.

CLEAVING AXE FOR SPLITTING, FORESTRY AXE FOR FELLING

A cleaving axe has a wedge-shaped axe head that makes fast, simple work of cutting through short logs and firewood. It means you can often halve wood with just one stroke, or split wood along the grain using a plastic or aluminium wedge, if the diameter is too large for direct splitting.

When you need an efficient tool for felling and pruning trees, reach for one of our forestry axes. Just like our hatchets, forestry and cleaving axes in classic wooden-handled design are also available as high-tech models with the axe head permanently integrated into a weather-resistant polyamide handle.

ANCILLARY TOOLS SUCH AS FELLING LEVERS, WEDGES, SAPPIES AND HOOKS

Marking chalk can be used to plan felling work in the forest. It allows you to quickly identify which trees are to be felled.

Driven into the trunk at just the right spot, STIHL cleaving, felling and cutting wedges can help you to drop a tree in the right direction, and to split logs cleanly. Our special twisted cleaving wedge offers excellent, reliable hold and good penetration, even in frozen wood. With weak wood, you can use a felling lever to achieve the desired leverage effect even without a wedge.

And if delimbing the trunk is the next job on your list, the integrated cant hook lets you turn the trunk to whatever angle you need. As an alternative, our practical pulp tongs are great for this task too. Finally, protect your back when moving wood by using one of our sappies or a drag hook.

THE CLEAVING HAMMER FOR HEAVY JOBS

A STIHL cleaving hammer is made for thick pieces of hardwood. If direct cleaving is not possible, simply use the hammer-shaped back of the axe head to drive in a wedge. The forged hammer head also has a reversible tip that you can use to move your wood after splitting, as you would a sappie.
