Not without restrictions. Although all AP batteries have been developed for the STIHL AP system and physically fit, optimal functional compatibility is not guaranteed for every combination. High-performance power tools in the AP system in particular often have specific battery recommendations or even minimum requirements to achieve their full performance or to be safely operated.

The charging time of STIHL batteries in the AP system varies. It depends on the battery capacity (Wh/Ah) and the power of the STIHL charger used (W). Larger batteries and standard chargers mean longer charging times than smaller batteries and high-speed chargers
STIHL AK and AP battery power systems have been developed for different user groups and requirements:
AK system: Ideal for private users and typical tasks in the home garden.
AP system: Designed for pros with a focus on maximum performance and endurance for intensive applications.
Very important: The AK and AP systems are not compatiblewith each other. An AK battery only fits in an AK device and an AP battery only fits in an AP device.
No, that’s not possible. STIHL AK battery power systems and AP battery power systems are not compatible with each other. AK batteries only fit physically into AK devices and AP batteries only fit into AP devices. This separation ensures optimal performance and safety for the respective system.
This depends on the charger. Some STIHL chargers (such as AL 101, AL 301 or AL 500) are multi-system chargers that can charge both AK and AP batteries (including AR batteries with adapter and connecting cable). However, there are chargers that are designed for a specific system only, such as the AL 301-4. Therefore, always check the product description of your charger for the exact battery compatibility when charging.
No, the STIHL AS system is a separate system for compact handheld power tools and is not compatible with the AK or AP system. AS batteries can only be used in the specific AS tools (such as HSA 26, GTA 26).
